How we work

You will understand your own business better at every step.

Four steps, each one producing something you can act on. By the end you will know where you stand, what it would cost to put right, and what you are risking if you leave it.

The order matters, and it is arranged in your favor. Nobody should be asked to sign a multi-year agreement off the back of a first conversation, and no price is worth much until someone has actually looked at what you have.

    A short call

We find out what prompted you to look.

There is almost always an event behind the enquiry: someone left, a questionnaire arrived, a board asked a question, a peer got hit. That context tells us more than any capability checklist.

We will ask roughly how many people touch your systems and what is already in place. Then we tell you what we would do, which is sometimes an assessment and sometimes two things you can fix yourself this week.

What you end up with: You leave with a clear read on how serious your situation is and what we would tackle first, plus a decision to make: keep talking, start an assessment, or do nothing for now.

    Sentry Inspect

We examine what is actually there.

Technical scanning runs across your network, endpoints, cloud applications, and identity systems for the full month rather than as a single snapshot. In parallel we interview leadership and staff, including whoever pays invoices and whoever onboards new hires.

Then we cross-check the three against each other: what the scans found, what people told us, and what your policies claim. Contradictions between those are usually the most valuable thing we find.

What you end up with: A written report and a 30/90/180-day action plan. Yours to keep regardless of what happens next.

    The briefing

We present what we found to the people who decide.

About an hour with your leadership, owners, partners, a board, an executive team. We walk through what we found, what it would cost you if it were exploited, and what we would do about it.

This is the part clients tell us matters most. Not because the findings are dramatic, but because it is usually the first time everyone in the room is looking at the same evidence instead of trading assumptions.

What you end up with: Shared understanding, in a room, with a document. Whatever you decide afterwards, you decide it informed.

  4. Optional · ongoing

    Sentry Protect

If it makes sense for both of us, we become your technology partner.

Implementation follows the plan from the assessment, starting with the highest-severity items. Then ongoing management: 24/7 security monitoring and response, help desk, unlimited support and consulting, and quarterly reviews so it does not quietly drift back.

If it does not make sense, for either of us. You still have a roadmap you can hand to anyone.

What you end up with: A partner responsible for keeping things running, keeping them secure, and planning what comes next, rather than a vendor you call once something has already broken.

Why it works this way

Why we look before we price.

Most providers will give you a monthly number in the first meeting. What they are actually quoting is a standard package sized to your headcount. It might be about right. Neither of you has any way to know.

The assessment exists so that the number we eventually give you is derived from your actual environment, the servers you forgot about, the contractors nobody counted as users, the backup that has been reporting success while capturing nothing.

It also means you can evaluate us before committing to anything ongoing. Thirty days is long enough to see how we work, how we communicate, and whether you want us around. Several clients have told us afterwards that the assessment was really where they made the decision.

And if the answer turns out to be that we are not the right firm for you, thirty days is long enough for both of us to work that out before anyone is committed.

The next step

Step one is fifteen minutes.

Tell us what prompted you to look. We will tell you what we would do about it, including when the answer is that you do not need us.

No pitch on the first call. If we are not a fit, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
