In March of 2023, Prescott College discovered that personal information may have been accessed by a bad actor between October 26 and October 29, 2022. This information includes names, dates of birth, social security numbers, and other sensitive information.

After detecting the threat, Prescott college responded to the security incident with an immediate and thorough investigation, contained the network breach, and contacted law enforcement. Subsequently, a forensics investigation was performed to identify the extent and type of activity that took place.

Importantly, Prescott College is notifying individuals that may be affected by the data breach. This information will include best practices and resources for protect their sensitive, private information. Nonetheless, it’s important to be cautious and heed the advice given. This may include activities like placing a fraud alert or security freeze on your credit. Soon, credit monitoring services will be provided by Prescott College.
